Anak Asli Rising: A Journey of Hope and Belonging

Anak Asli Rising: A journey of hope and belonging is a story about children finding their place in the world through education.

Set across Orang Asli villages in Pahang, the story follows children and youth whose lives have been shaped by barriers to education and the quiet feeling of being left behind. Yet within these realities are also moments of resilience, and hope.

What began in 2020 as a small Mobile School initiative in Kampung Cerampak slowly grew into something deeper than a classroom. It became a space where children could learn freely, where parents began to participate again, and where young people started to believe that their future could look different from the past.

Through the eyes of Zalia and Asiah, the story moves between childhood and youth, tracing how support, and belonging can shape confidence over time.

Their journey reflects the reality that is taking place within many Orang Asli comnunities that we worked with.
